Julia Kito Kirtley is a multidisciplinary artist from Compton California. She received her BA in Interior Design from Pratt Institute and is currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
Her motif surrounds abstract renditions of urban architecture, something she refers to as “cityscapes.”
Another reoccurring theme in her work is based on the kinetic relationship between sound, movement and painting. She takes inspiration from the mysterious underground house dance community, of which she’s documented via photo, video and performance art pieces for over 20 years.
